Adam Ort, General Manager/Marketing Director

Adam Ort moved to Kauai from Tampa, Florida almost two years ago.  He visited the Island a few times, fell in love with the aloha spirit, went home, and three weeks later made the 5000 mile voyage.  Prior to moving here, Adam graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa with Bachelors of Science in Marketing and Business Management.  He then graduated from Stetson Law School in St. Petersburg, Florida where he worked with one of the leading professors in Elder Law.  With a partner from law school, Adam started a Title and Escrow Company and helped run a Real Estate and Mortgage Company which still operates in Florida.

Upon arriving, Adam had the good fortune to join Regency Pacific, Inc., the managing company of Regency at Puakea, where he still hangs his real estate license.  After serving as the Marketing Director for nearly a year, he is now the General Manager and Marketing Director where he is responsible for the day-to-day operations and overall client satisfaction.  Community involvement and Assisted Living education are an integral part of his professional life.  He is a Certified Assisted Living Director with many years of owning and managing people centric businesses with the common goal of going above and beyond to meet the needs of his clients.

During his tenure at Regency at Puakea, he has worked hard to earn the respect of the residents and trust of the families to take care of their loved ones.  Since becoming GM, he has strived to make Regency at Puakea a fun and rewarding place to work and a welcome place for residents to call home.  Adam's door is always open to answer questions or provide a joke to put a smile on your face!

Personally, family is very important to Adam, especially his three children: A.J. (9), Cambria (8) and Rebekah (2).  He coaches soccer and assists with the children's baseball teams as well.  He is excited to be here in Kauai and appreciates the generosity and aloha shared with him by members of the community.  You may reach him at manager@regencypuakea.com.

Kathy H. Peters, Business Manager/Interim General Manager

Kathy has been in management for over 21 years.  She spent 17 years working in an Estate law firm in Ohio as a Probate Specialist where she provided legal and personal assistance to clients who had lost a loved one.  She worked four years as Office Manager at Cycle City Kauai dba Two Wheels.  She and her husband, Randie, moved to Kauai after they were married here.  She has strong ties with her family on the mainland and enjoys motorcycling, gardening and cooking.  You may reach her at officemanager@regencypuakea.com.

RJ Tolodziecki, Executive Chef

Born in Michigan, RJ began his culinary path at the tender age of ten by cooking for his family.  From there his career goals turned to music and he followed the dream of Hollywood's music scene.  But the pull of the kitchen, and several generations of chef genetics beckoned, and he once again turned his hand to the stove.  In California, he cooked for many of Hollywood's "who's who" ... among them Nancy Regan, Robert DeNiro, Jack Nicholson, Pamela Anderson, Robert Carradine, Rod Stewart, as well as helping cater the 2002 Emmy Awards.

After a 2004 vacation to Kauai, Chef RJ bought a home and brought his family with him one year later.  He walked into the Regency kitchen and found a home.  Chef RJ says he finds creating fine cuisines for our venerable elders a much more fulfilling role.  When you come to Regency at Puakea, YOU will be treated as well as any A-Lister.  Come for a visit and you'll stay for dinner.  You may reach him at dietary@regencypuakea.com.

Pat Coon, RN, Wellness Director

Pat held the Charge Nurse position in a 37 bed ICU at Loyola University in Chicago.  She came to Kauai in 1990 after being offered a job at Wilcox Memorial Hospital in the ICU where she remained until 1998 when she was promoted to the Infection Control Coordinator.  Pat was the first outer island Chapter President of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology.  Pat worked with the Centers for Disease Control on a study which was published in the MMWR (Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report).  Pat has also held positions in the Emergency Department and in Nursing Administration.  She continues to be a certified instructor in ACLS, BLS, CPR and First Aid.  She has attended and given multiple classes on bioterrorism and is certified in Emergency Management.  You may reach her at aldirector@regencypuakea.com.

Eunice Burgonio, Activities Director

She came from the Philippines with her family, and is now an American citizen. Coming from an extended family she provides our seniors with love and kindness as she did with her own grandparents. After 15 years at Wilcox Hospital Long term care as Activities Assistant Coordinator, she moved to the Kauai Care Center in Waimea. She was the Activities Director in that sister facility of the Regency. She is now here at the Regency at Puakea to work closer to her family. She states she has learned many of life's lessons from the seniors. They keep her fulfilled with their happiness and Eunice in one of the many activities she has planned for the week.  You may reach her at activity@regencypuakea.com.

Randie Peters, Facilities Coordinator

The residents at the Regency at Puakea are Randie’s primary focus every day.  He started as a part time bus driver on Fridays, and became attached to the ‘family’ at the Regency, so much so, that he is now full time Supervisor in charge of all building maintenance and repairs. His goal is to make sure the residents feel comfortable, safe and happy in their homes.  When asked to perform a task, his response is “consider it done.”  He tries very hard to make the building pleasing and welcoming.  He loves to help the residents hang pictures, arrange furniture and make their new homes their own.  That personal interaction is the best part of his day.  Randie comes from a long line of building contractors who have been building homes in Central Ohio for many years.  His father and uncles taught him everything he knows about building a house from the ground up ..to repairing just about anything.  He is retired from Ralston Foods in Lancaster, Ohio.  He loves to repair and refinish antiques and had a spot in an antique mall where he sold his ‘finds.’  He has his private pilot’s license, is a certified scuba diver, enjoys gardening, cooking, and being active in water sports.  He shares his home with his wife Kathy and 2 dogs, Nika and Zo-D.  He loves entertaining visitors from the mainland, spending time with friends, and showing off the beautiful Island of Kauai to anyone who wants to experience it.

Jeannie Isobe, Housekeeping Supervisor

Jeannie was born on Oahu but has lived on Kauai ever since. Being of Japanese, Portuguese-French decent she is a true local. Formerly she owned her own cleaning business and was a dental assistant for 11 years. Her love of cleaning brought her to us where she tirelessly serves the residents. “I love to see them happy in their new homes.”  Residents certainly enjoy her scheduled cleaning services, where it is not just cleaning but it is a visit with a friend.
